Dermatology (from Latin derma - skin, and logos - science) is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, nails, hair,  and their diseases, treatment, and prevention.

Dermatoscopy

Dermatoscopy is a non-invasive method, including skin observation with a magnifying glass aiming to detect morphological changes, which usually are invisible without a magnifier. This quick screening is used in diagnostic, prognosis or monitoring after treatment of different skin diseases, like skin neoplasms - malignant melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, parasitic infections, Psoriasis, nail and scalp conditions, etc.

Microbiology and mycology testing

The diagnostic of skin diseases depends on different diagnostic techniques, aiming to detect the reasons for the illness. Skin infections are common, usually mild to moderately severe, caused by various bacteria, and less commonly by viruses and fungi. Microbiology test is used for detecting different bacteria that cause infections.
One of the primary diagnostic methods when suspecting fungi infection is the sample test of skin, nails, or hair.  The results from the microscope examination are ready in a day, and from the sample test - in two to four weeks.

Allergy testing

According to the World Health Organization data, allergies are at fourth place for spreading worldwide. A large number of different substances (allergens) can cause different types of allergies. Allergy skin testing is a method for detecting the allergen causing the allergy. It includes putting a small amount of the substance on or in the skin and observing for allergic reaction to the allergen. According to the latest data, eczema is associated with different skin allergens, and about 80% of the patients have at least one positive result in allergens testing. The most common allergens are metals like nickel and cobalt, and also some cosmetic ingredients, parabens, colophons, perfumes, hair dyes.

Epicutaneous Allergy testing

Skin allergy testing is used as a standard method for finding the precise diagnosis. When allergic contact dermatitis is suspected, skin allergy testing proves the reaction to a specific substance. On the back skin of the patient, the dermatologist puts samples of the suspected allergen. The results are observed on day three, day four, and sometimes even of day seven. The reporting of the results is performed by a dermatologist, qualified in skin testing and allergens, including origins, avoiding contacts with them, individual treatment.

Dermatosurgery

Part of the dermatology therapy includes surgery treatment of benign and malignant skin formations. Their removal could be based on medical recommendations, or aesthetic and functional indicators, like the desire of the patient, skin irritation, specific location, connected with local changes and discomfort.

Curettage

Curettage is used for removal of benign skin formations with a surgical tool. It is a standard method in cases of Molluscum contagiosum, Seborrheic keratosis, warts, and other benign skin formations in adults and children.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a non-surgical intradermal therapy, including injecting different mixtures of substances, like hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, collagen, and sometimes even stem cells. Mesotherapy is used mainly for rejuvenation of the skin of the face, neck, neckline, back, and arms. It reduces and fills the wrinkles, heals and regenerates the skin, hydrates, tightens, and lifts the surface of the face and body. The recommended course includes three procedures in three weeks, but the number depends on the extent of the problem and the skin age, and depending on this one or two series yearly can be performed. The duration of one procedure is approximately 20 minutes. It does not require special preparation and recovery time, but the effect depends on the type of the treated problem, skin type, lifestyle of the patient and her or his usual physical activity.
A dermatologist performs mesotherapy, and a medical examination is mandatory before the procedure. It is a comfort method without pain and recovery period, but with high effectiveness. After the procedure, patients find their skin younger and more elastic.

Chemical Peel

Chemical Peel is a non-invasive medical procedure, including putting different organic acids on the skin. They make physiology changes in the look and structure of the skin. Chemical Peel can be implemented for the face, neck, and arms. The purpose of the procedure is to improve the skin look through removal of the damaged top layer. It has a positive impact on wrinkles, sun damage, pigments, photoaging, seborrhea, large pores, and acne scars.

There are three types of chemical peel according to the acid type - superficial, medium, and deep. The choice depends on the patient condition and the professionalism and experience of the dermatologist. The chemical peel prevents the retardation of skin, and the indicators for its implementation can be medical and aesthetical - from reducing acne connected changes to the removal of pigment spots on face and arms skin. The Chemical peel is a safe and effective procedure for the treatment of different skin diseases, and it leads to excellent results.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are medical products, usually including hyaluronic acid, which is a natural component of the skin. They have a temporary effect. Dermal fillers are injected in specific parts of the skin to smooth the visible wrinkles on the face, neck, neckline an arms, aiming to non-surgically shape the face. They provide corrections in the nasolabial zone, around the eyes, shaping of checks and check, eyelids lifting, scar filling.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a DNA virus, which attacks the skin and mucosas. There are more than 200 types of HPV, and every one of them affects the human body differently. More of them don’t have any visible effects, but some cause warts, and others - cancer of the cervix, vulva, vagina, anus, penis, rectum. The infection is chronic, and in a large number of patients leads to multiple warts removal through acid or liquid nitrogen. The formations could also be removed surgically and through a laser.
