Dr. Shterev Hospital has a valid contract with the Center for Assisted Reproduction (CAR), according to which the procedures of women with injunctions from CAR’s Director are performed. This injunction includes information about the approval from CAR and the granted amount.

The amount granted by CAR is up to BGN 5000.

- Hormone testing - 10 times, up to BGN 18 each = BNG 180
- Follicular puncture - BGN 400
- In Vitro Fertilization - BNG 1300

- Cryopreservation of embryos - BGN 200

ICSI fertilization
- Ultrasound examinations - 6 times, up to BGN 30 each = BGN 180

How to apply for CAR grant?

Patients submit a document kit personally at CAR. The package includes application forms and medical records, prepared from a clinic, chosen by the patient. The documents for the application in CAR are prepared for all the patients of Dr. Shterev Hospital for free. With the submission, every patient receives a personal number.

Who can assist with the application kit?

If you are a patient of Dr. Shterev Hospital, you can contact our health care coordinator for CAR Mrs. Vanya Bandarska. The cabinet for document preparation is at floor 3, working hours: from Monday to Friday, 8:00-16:00, mobile: 0884 30 11 69.

Can you change the chosen clinic?

Patients could change the clinic after approval of their documents by CAR. There is no requirement to undergo the procedure in the treatment facility, which has prepared the documents. The patient should fill an application for the change and wait for a new injunction by CAR’s Director with the name of the lately chosen clinic.

What can be funded by CAR?

Center for Assisted Reproduction funds infertility treatment through ART and mainly through IVF when one of these indications are presented:
- Tubal factor infertility
- Male infertility
- Woman infertility - lack of ovulation because of LUF syndrome
- Unexplained infertility
