Ultrasound diagnostic (Echographic)

What is Ultrasound diagnostic?
The examination through an ultrasound machine in the Ob/Gyn practice is routine, safe, noninvasive and precise. The frequency of the device is 1-10 MHz. The diagnostic is based on the visualization and analysis of the ultrasound waves, reflected from the body parts, which are the object of the machine transducer. The visualization could be in 2D, 3D and 4D mode. When used for Ob/Gyn examinations, ultrasound visualises the location, shape, size, and structure of the uterus and ovaries.

When is required?
In cases of infertility treatment ultrasound diagnostic is used for:
- Follicular measurement: tracking the growth and size of the developing follicles during the menstrual cycle
- Ovulation tracking: ultrasound examination is the explicit testing
- Ovarian reserve examination: number of antral follicles, ovarian size, doppler of ovarian blood vessels
- Endometrial assessment in the different phases of the menstrual cycle
- Fallopian tubes passability assessment
- During IVF procedure: monitoring of the ovarian response to COH, the follicular puncture, and the embryo transfer
- Detecting congenital uterine abnormalities, like a bicornuate uterus, uterine cavity barriers, etc.
- Diagnostic of different conditions of the endometrium, uterus, ovaries, like myoma, polyps, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), endometriosis, ovarian cysts, tumors.
