Десислава Дюлгерова е родена 1983 г. в гр. Русе. През 2009 г. завършва Софийски университет ,,Св. Климент Охридски” с Бакалавърска степен по Биология и химия и Магистърска степен по химия (Магистърска програма: Медицинска и фармакологична биофизикохимия). Разработва дипломна работа на тема ,,Влияние на L-аргинин и Na-нитропрусид като източници на NO върху активността на сукцинатдехидрогеназата и Na,K – АТФаза в мозъчна тъкан – сравнителен преглед”.

Прилага методи за оценка, анализ, обработка и подбор на сперматозоиди за целите на АРТ. Тестове за оценка на морфология на сперматозоиди (Kruger’s strict criteria), ДНК фрагментация на сперматозоиди, имунологичен фактор за инфертилитет, MSOME (motile sperm organelle morphology evaluation), MACS (magnetic activated cell sorting). Прилага методи за криопрезервация на мъжки репродуктивни клетки и обработка за целите на ART и/или криопрезервация на сперматозоиди добити чрез PESA; TESE.

Проявява интерес към психологическите аспекти при двойки с репродуктивни проблеми, с основен фокус върху мъжа и влиянието на високите нива на тревожност и стрес върху показателите на семенната течност
